I believe that education can take shape in many different forms, and as such, each student may have a different style of learning. In order to be an effective educator, one must take into account the best way to reach their students. I believe that when it comes to music, students learn via practice, performance, hearing, and visual examples.

I believe that the saxophone fundamentals of tone, breath support, and vibrato are of utmost importance. The first thing that a listener notices will always be how a musician sounds, thus we must spend ample time practice long tones, breathing exercises, and vibrato exercises.

In order for education to be successful the teacher and student must work together to combine their roles. When these two work hand in hand to provide individualized instruction, education is sure to happen. No obstacle is too high when there is good communication in the classroom between the teacher and student.
